I have 2002 190 bay with 160 hrs on it and a 11 inch crack on the bottom. The Triumph plan is to have you drag the boat to the nearest repair shop on the list, and wait and wait and wait,If I was a betting man I would be sure that a class action suit could be had and won on defective and poor quality control .The 2002 sounds like that a whole bunch of cracks are caused by lack of foam filling the voids.what you think about that???

manatee-mangler, was this modification at your request or did the repair shop do it that way because Triumph recommends it? This will help me greatly since I will need this repair soon. What about the water inside the hull? I would only like to have this repaired once. Thanks for the help.
Vince

I live in Eureka Calif. Our local dealer is about 10 miles away. The people I know that had cracks in there hull got there boats replaced. You may ask Triumph why did the boats that were bought at the Outboard Center in Arcata Ca that had cracked hulls got there boats replaced. Ray Lennox had a crack on the right side about five inches long and the other boat was Steve Haynes. I don't know the other persons name. I inspect my 02 190 Bay all the time and if it cracks I will insist on a new boat. Good luck

I had a crack in my hull and Triumph sent 2 guys from the factory to Arcata to fix it. The repair looks good and is holding good. I have yet to put it to the real test out in the big waves. Time will tell. 2005 191 FS

I have not put the name on the boat, but the name is "The Cowboy" and radio call sign is the same. I too am getting all my gear out for crab. Things are slow this time of year and was looking for some other fish to go after. I have been researching shark out of the Eureka area. Not much luck.

I think Triumph repaced some 2002 Bay 190's before they began teaching local dealers how to repair plastic hulls.

Also, the inner hull foam has to be drained and the closed cell foam should not hold water. If after @3 months of draining and drilling holes in the hull, if it is still wet, then you might get a new hull.

This is just what I have heard over the years, it may or maynot be the official policy of Triumph.
