Exclamation Yes and maybe

I too have the 150-4stroke Yamaha on my 2004 190bay. I'm on my second factory prop and have been pretty happy with it. I do a lot of close in fishing around the rocks of the Bay Bridge tunnel. On two occasions I was glad I had aluminum and not stainless as I smacked a rock I didn't see. The first time I tore a blade off, the second just dinged a little. I probably would of had lower unit damage if it had been a stainless prop.

I'm not careless, but I'll admit, knowing that my hull will be ok if I bump something I get closer than I should some time.

When the prop was new, I could get 49-50mph GPS. Now with a ding or two I still hit 45.

If you get a stainless let me know your results.

Paul

that sounds close enough to cast to the cobia that hang out around the rocks in the summer months

thanks pd. i assume you are also running a 14X19 i am also curious to know what top holes you are using on your engine mount, mine is using the second from the top, the reason i ask is because i live in minnesota and the dealer i bought my boat from is not used to rigging this type of boat, i just want to make sure that my boat is set up correctly.

As per the Yamaha Performance Bulletin (attached) the #2 mounting position is correct

Hey Putershark. Got one of those for the 215? I've never seen that performance chart before.

Found 2 for the 210 (close enough hull wise), and here is the once that best matches your rig The Yamaha site though has some more and it may be faster to find the link to that section of Yahama's page with the link I have built on the Heartland web site in the engine section that goes right to it...

On the 60+, 185/190s that we have sold, we have found that the best overall performance, is when the motor is all the way down. When I bring my 190 in for it's winter projects I'm going to lower the motor. I bought a used 02 and we did not install the motor. I run a 4 blade, 17p, SS prop.
