Boat Battery

Winterized my new 2006 190 bay this past week and the biggest pain in the butt is pulling out the Battery. It shouldn't be that difficult. I think i will install an extra battery and a (batt A/B/ OFF switch) but not so sure if there is enough room.
Any modification ideas?

no room at my inn

looks like you have plenty of room. Mine is located behind the leaning post under the transum splash well. the batteries are almost touching the top of the well.
Don't want to use the trolling motor battery box because we use it for tackel / cooler.

In the stern in the same location as yours is where those "were" located (my A/B still is) before I had them moved... I also wanted to shift some more weight forward to help offset the weight of the Power Pole I have mounted beside my engine for those batteries are not light.

In the console though also makes it much easier to hook up a charger The critical aspect of mounting the batteries (any batteries for that matter) in the console is to make sure you do NOT have batteries that vent or it will eat up the wring harness over time . So that is not the place I would install any kind of wet cell units even inside battery boxes. So AGM batteries and ones that do not vent at all like those Odyssey dry cell units is what I recommend

Battery Thoughts in the 190 Bay

I think under member photos I still have some pic's of my battery system mod's two in stern plus recessed Perco switch and two up front with my onboard non AC charger mount. Oh by the way with my Steath charger I have never pluged into a wall only my truck and the Engine handles all the charging which equates to unlimited on water trolling power. sritz05 is the gallery. If you have any questions on my setup feel free to e-mail me at sritz05@cox.net
