T-Top 190bay

Currently own a 2006 190bay with a Bimini Top. Used it this season and experienced that the Bimini has several disadvantages. One, it acted like a sail on windy days. Two, each side of the boat had 2 poles and a strap for mountng and made fishing harder. Three, can't mount light, pole holders or electronics box overhead.
I asked the dealer about an after market unit and he does't install. He did recommend a local guy that wants to charge $2300. They say its a coustom built unit, looks nice and fits the 190 like a glove. I need to justify the cost. Its more than 10% of the cost what i paid for the boat motor and trailer.
Anyone have any stories or prices for the tee on a 190bay?
help!lol

Hello delawaredogfish.

I would suggest doing a "Search" on "T-Top install".

My memory is not what it used to be but I remember discussions on how the t-top needed to be anchored on our plastic boats. The proper anchoring should be true regardless of boat size. There are just some things we should be carefull with.

I am sure it can be done, it's having the install done correctly so you have no problem's that tops my list. In my opinion, the instalation should at least have the guidance of a Triumph dealer, or be done by a Triumph dealer.

custom T-top with 4 rocket launchers and lights install, better than factory should be @10% cheaper than factory, from what I found. Shop around.

Hey, that's a local company for me. I may have to check them out. Looks like some of those customer pix were taken on Lake Lanier, where I do most of my local boating.

Thumbs up Foding T-top

Astrodiver: I just traded in my 2000 Logic 170CC for a 190Bay. I do not plan to take delivery until April 1. I wanted a T-top, however, the height of the T-top posed potential storage problems for me. I ordered a fold down T-top from http://www.fishmaster.com/index.html . It was approximately $1200 with 4 swivel rod holders and shipping was free. I had it drop shipped to the Triumph Dealer and he will install it when my boat arrives from the factory.
I can very quicky remove it, if desired by loosening two Allen screws. Looking forward to putting it through the paces.
Tight lines,
John

J, Seriously, post a review on this top when you can. I've been looking at that top for about 6 months now and have been skeptical of its construction. Just doesn't seem strong with the extra joints for folding.

Is it strong enough to hold a box? PFDs? Light kits? Antenas?

Their site says it is but....eh....rather hear it from a regular guy.

Thanks!

Nocturn: Will let you now. I am outfitting it with a box and an antenna.

I talked with their people and they claim that it is sturdy enough and will provide excellent performance.
Tght lines,
John
