Drain plug removal

I found it hard to remove the drain plgs on my Bay 190 for three reasons.

First of all my knees are shot , secondly the drains are positioned right on the center bunks of the trailer, and it is a bit of a reach to get at the plugs.

What I did to make this easier is to take an 8" section of 1/2" id PVC pipe and cut a 5/8 deep by 1/4 inch wide notch in the end. This notch is slipped over the "thumb tab" on the drain plug.

This enables me to easily to get a good grip on the drain plug and I don't have to climb halfway under the boat to get at them.

Kind of reminds of the tool they use to turn off water in the meter boxes.

If you take white lithium grease to the threads of the drain plug, you will find it SOOOOooooo much easier to remove, even if has been in for a long time.

Love the idea Frank (my bunks though are clear of my drains) but we will have to go hit the flats together some time
