Rod holder modification
Hello,
I was planning to scrap the factory rod holder inside the boat and decided to try to save it instead. I inserted a 1/8" x 1.75" x 9.5" of aluminum between the strap and the foam. This gives the strap something to pull against and also takes up the slack in the strap. The material I used was a computer rack blanking panal that measured 1"u" (1.75" by 19" by 1/8"). I made it 9.5" because 1) it was easy to cut in half and 2) it fit that way. If you have some other material that is stiff and thin try it. Happy boating! Tampafrank |

Everybody pretty much knows how I feel (why I changed mine out) about those factory rod holders
, but that is very good upgrade and something the factory needs to look into doing for sure Great idea Frank!

I changed mine out for the same reason that you made that modification. I found a 5 rod holder. I am trying to get enough rods on the boat so I don't have to switch lures and cut lines. Just put the whole rod down and grab another one

Thanks. I see your a fan of the bait caister reel. I just bought a Pfluger and I hope to try it out tomorrow. I have practiced throwing it a bit. I know that they are easy to backlash.
