Define how much and which model hull? Some of these pumps are up a little high in the bilge so thay can have some water in them that the pump cannot reach

To Test, just open up your inspection plate to the bilge, then stick in your garden hose....When I clean my boat I also clean up the bilge area...Always nice to take a clean boat in to the service department when the need arise's.

Genelie, I fully agree with you. After washing the boat, we always stick a hose into the bilge area and spray everything we can.

With our boat stored in the garage, it sure helps eliminate odors.

Even if we stored the boat outside, we would hope that putting fresh water thru the bilge pump would help extend its life. The way salt will destroy things, why take a chance.

As you say, the service guys really appreciate a clean boat if they have to work on it.

Green Grass Clogger, that just looks like to much fun to be legal.

Using a wet vac is just not that much fun.

Any problems with runing Salt Away throught the bilge pump and wash down pump? I was thinking that might help like it does with the engine.

Good old fresh water works well enough for the bilge pump. After all when you use soap, bleach or any other cleaner while cleaning the boat you are flushing some of it through the bilge pump.

I want to believe the Bay 190 has a low spot near midship. I water tested the other weekend and saw no water intrusion with the newly rerouted scuppers and a flap over the bilge thru hull. Left the boat overnight in the water.

When I pulled the boat out of the water, had a couple gallons come out with the plugs. I learned to pull plugs quickly as once the bilge cycles over and finds water, it is usually when I am attaching the transome saver and I get a shot of water in the face.

Still testing but am down to other thru hulls or baitwell pickup valve.
