No, mine did not have a T-Top. I do mostly fly fishing and I did not want it in the way.

Way to go Chip! love my 2004 190bay rigged for diveing I also upgraded from a 170 (Logic) the 190 ain't as fast (my 170 had a merc 90) but plenty quick enough. I get on plane in 3-4 seconds with a 19" prop on a 115 yami. Thats fully loaded iced and fueled ,with 4 divers + gear + 8 tanks of air (AL80s) and 100lbs of dive weights.

Picturs of the new 190 Bay

I took a couple of picture (will have more soon) of the new boat.

I got out on the water a couple of times just to run the motor and all seems good so far.

Chip:

Glad to see you got her... Looks real familiar for some reason... I sure love mine and Hooked on the Bay was very good to deal with. I am sure we will pass on the water. I am just about ready have my artwork applied to the sides and stern. I will post some pics when done. That way we can tell our boats apart...

Good luck with her...

Bill,

I had the boat out yesterday (I have a season ramp pass at Anchor). The water was like mud due to the rains and the Conowingo Dam gates being open last weekend due to issues on the river in New York State. So I went over to the Sasafrass. The water was much cleaner.

It runs like a dream. Came right up on plane without a problem. This boat is much more comfortable than my 170CC was (not that I would complain about that one. It was a good boat.)

The water was still cold (42 degrees).

Wayne, Felicia, and everyone else at Hooked on the Bay are great to work with.

Please let me know about the art work. I really want to see what it looks like. If your ever going out for stripers, let me know. I am going to try and get out as much as possible (in between coaching work and Little League)

Regards,
Chip

Smile Conowingo Dam

I used to fish off of that dam when I was stationed at Bainbridge, Maryland in the early 60's. Caught a lot of great catfish off of that dam! Brings back many memories.

I'm Hooked and I'm on the Bay too..............

Chip...Karl...et al......

I had my 190Bay out yesterday (Friday) AM and was out all day with my (almost) son-in-law. We sure beat the water into a foam but avoided disturbing any fish in the process...........I've only just returned to the North East area after 23 years in New England....lotsa striper and blue fishing mostly by fly-via-kayak up there but after I retired I realized that I was too old to not have a boat. (funny......I've been telling myself that same line for years now and never did anything about it before).

Anyhow, I have an '04 with the 115 Yamaha and the boat is absolutely the bomb. It comes up on plane very quickly and easily with four adults. Passengers are always commenting on the stability and comfort of the ride, which most apparently don't expect in a sub-20ft. boat. Guess it helps to be more than eight feet wide. Bought it last October..........16k/<50 hrs/bow cushion and rail with semi-custom canvas covers. I changed out the Michigan Wheel aluminum prop for the Yamaha factory-recommended model, and in hindsight, I wish that I had spent more time learning my way around before replacing the (completely untouched) cheapo prop with the better one..........I bought the Garmin GPSMAP498 and it is an amazing piece of equipment. ALL of the coastal chartage comes with the unit. That being said I'm still having trouble maintaining SONAR at low speeds sometimes...I think I have to reposition the transducer....

Chip, I grew up in Newark (a long time ago) and my son-in-law is a cop there. I live in the vicinity of Turkey Point and you may be well served to check out the launch facilities at the State Park. Now I'm a Maryland resident so I don't know exactly what they'll hit you for out-of-state but for $75/yr, I have unlimited ramp access at the BEAUTIFUL facility at Elk Neck State Park. Modern, 4-boat concrete ramp that slopes perfectly, plenty of parking and few people mid-week.

I have to agree that the folks at Hooked on the Bay are a great bunch. Even Karl is OK.................seriously, they're really helpful and they know their stuff. Experience shows.

I hope to meet up with you locals soon.

Chip, I was reading the posts here and noted that you were into Geocaching.
I have been geocaching since the Summer of 2004. My first geocaching was a lake event where I took cachers around the lake in my boat.
I go by the name 'AstroDiver' which also happens to be the name of my boat.

I guess you have your new boat by now? Congrats on your purchase. Please post some photos when you take some.
