Trailer recall

I just got a certified letter from Triumph recalling my trailer. 2003 and 2004 190 Bay’s, SC’s and DC’s with EZ Loader trailers are affected. The dealer will inspect and adjust the winch stand and add a forward keel support. Supposedly this setup matches what the factory is doing on the “05” models.
I am proud of Triumph for making this commitment. I sure don’t want my hull to look like others that have been pictured here.
I will have to hold off for a while because Tuesday I go in for an ankle fusion (I am whining now). Yea it is as bad as it sounds and will put me down for a couple months. Will be on line at the house fishing and boating vicariously though all of you.

Appreciate the info, but thought that only the 2002 190's were the models with hull deflections.

Would you be willing to scan/post the letter?

My 2002 190 Bay does not have hull deflections.

Good luck on Tuesday JR!

Wonder if MagicTilt trailers will be affected since that was what my 2002 Bay came on. already had to replace the axle and wheels (at factory cost) and have crack in hull deflection repaired.

There is not much to the letter. This is not a recall, it says it is a service bulletin and the number is S-05-003. There is a big block in the upper right hand corner that reads “MANDATORY”.
It begins by stating the importance for proper support of the boat on the trailer (something we all already know). And that if we do not have the two items fixed the long term structural integrity of the boat could be reduced.
Winch stand: They sent a little drawing that shows the winch mount to be horizontal and the center line of the roller is 24” above the top of the trailer frame. There is another 35” dimension from the rear end of the fork plate to the rear face of the winch post mounting plate. These are just adjustments to be performed at the dealership.
Addition of Forward keel support: This states that Triumph and EZ Loader Trailers are retroactively adding this forward support. It goes on to say that it is the same setup as the 2005 models.
That is basically it besides all the other stuff like contacting your local Triumph dealer to arrange service. It is signed by R.Joseph Bierman (Customer Service Warranty Manager).
More whining: My doctor called and put my ankle surgery off until Friday. The longer he puts this off the more summer I loose. Shoot!

I was told by Brian at Triumph that pretty much everything thats not on a 2005 trailer needs work done on them. The reason they are only going from 2002 is because thats when Genmar bought them and when they started selling trailers with the boats. I had to send him pics of my boat and he said that he would send a diagram of whats needed, but thats about all they're going to do for me. Looks like the Logic boats are going to be the "red headed stepchildren".

Great. I've got a 2001 Logic 190. Redheaded Stepchildren is the perfect description. Just one more reason to get my saddle off this horse and sell it. Can someone post photos and copies of the information the 2002 and later owners were privledged enough to receive?

Anyone have photos off the 2005 Trailers?

thanks

I'll post as soon as I get it. Brian said he would email, fax, and snail mail. I have not seen either yet.

Dgahagan: I don't have any major issues with my boat, the biggest thing is that I dont get to get it salty enough.

Haven't heard anything more on this in a while. Also contact our dealer, Freemac Marine, in upstate NY. They were going to contact us when they had more info/parts/etc. Nothing. Can anyone enlighten us?
