More trolling motor stuff

Just got a dealer leftover 2003 190 dual console last Saturday. I need a trolling motor. Bass Pro is discounting a 70lb thrust 50"shaft 24volt model, is this enough?

The Motorguide has a mounting plate, aside from the Rule Elastermer stuff do I need anything special to mount this motor?

Am I the only one with a 190 dual console, it seems like everyone else has the bay or the walk-thru.

You will need a mounting bracket. I just installed one on a 190 bay. Contact Merritt Marine in Hillsborough NC 919-732-7377. They are very helpful with the parts and how to information.

No. I also have one. I was starting to think I was the only one also. I like ocean fishing and lake fishing. I live at 8,000 ft elevation and have a 140 hp 4stroke suzuki. I was also thinking of what size trolling motor I needed. I was just wondering how long the shaft should be. Give me an email at hk3m@aol.com and let me know what your results were with a 50" shaft. I am also looking for a fish finder that will work with my boat. I have a 2003 190DC.

We also have the 2003 190 DC. Our trolling motor is a Minnkota Powerdrive, 52 lb. thrust, 12 volt. (self installed) It is more than enough to move the boat around - even in the wind.

And here I thought WE were the only ones with a DC!! We have the Yamaha 115 4-stroke. Very economical motor. And the boat loves choppy water. Only ride like it is an old woody.

You'll love your boat.

The 2003 leftover had a couple of things which needed repair including the gas tank sender (which I was told took 3 weeks to get from Triumph). I have yet to install the trolling motor, in fact I have yet to get the hull wet.

While my boat was at the dealer I started shopping for electronics you know vhf, ff, gps etc. I was ready to spend more than I could afford then I picked up my boat from the dealer. Where do you guys put electronics on these consoles? I couldn't afford the lowrance lms-337c anyways but honestly do I need to get a handheld vhf, and gps?

Also If anyone used starboard instead of buying the bracket I would love to see a pic, and get some input.

Thanks
