Bimini Top mounts

Has anyone had any problems with their bimini top mounts coming loose or stripping out? I was on the Lake the other day with the bimini rolled up in the boot and noticed how much it swayed left to right. I was worried it would pull the mounts right out of the boat. Is this something I should worry about or am I being paranoid? Should I lay the top down flat when I tow?

TIA,
Ace

Never had a problem with mine and yes, I would lay the top down and secure it with the straps. I could trap mine under the motor as it was tilted up into the splashwell. Wind will eventually start to fray some fabric so try to keep it from "flapping" in the wind.

On the boat, it should be adjusted taught and I used removable mounts to get it out of the weather in the winter. You might consider adding larger and longer screws and seal them in with elastomeric.
