90hp Merc....
Hi, All, New Here....
Looking At A Logic 186 Cool Bay That Has A 90 Hp Merc 2 Stroke, And Was Wondering If That Was Enough Power? I Don't Need To Blast Down The Lake, Or Anything, But There Will Occasionally Be 4-5 People On Board. Any Thoughts Would Be Appreciated! Thanks, Todd |

Bob,
Take five of your largest friends, ice, coolers, fuel, etc. and go give it a test drive. See what you think with the most weight you'll ever carry. Run it against the current too. Good Luck. John D. |

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. What I was hoping was someone on the forum here had one equipped this way that could enlighten me on their boats performance. The boat in question isn't close enough to justify going and "testing" it without some info up front. Anyone else have some input or experience with this setup: Logic/Triumph 186 Cool Bay, 90 Merc 2 stroke?
Thanks, Todd |

I have 2001 186 with a mercury 90 four stroke. It has plenty of power for
me. It has a top GPS speed of 39.8 at 5800 rpms and cruise at 30 mph at 4500 rpms. I'm running a mercuy vengance 13 1/8 x 16 pitch prop. I have never tried to pull a skier but I have pulled the kids on there tube and the the boat has no problem. I have had 6 adults aboard and had no problems with planning. |

I have a 2002 186 with a Mercury 90 HP 2 stroke. These 90 HP 2 strokes are very strong engines. The boat planes quickly and my top speed is about 38 to 39 mph with a light load and I usually cruise around 30 mph at around 4500 rpm's. With a full load, the top speed drops to around 35 mph. I've had as many as 4 adults and a few children in the boat at the same time and it planed well. If I were to buy a new boat, I would go with the maximum HP available, but I bought my boat used and I'm very satisfied with it. I mainly use my boat for inshore saltwater fishing in south Louisiana.
