Bought the leaning post
Just bit the bullet and purchased the Taco Neptune II because of the width, 33.5". I expect to get it in the next couple of days and want to install and use this weekend. I'm sure it will come with guidelines on space between the console and the leaning post but would like to get input from anyone with experience in installing a similar posts. What is the correct spacing and where is the measurement taken, edge of the console? Steering wheel?

Sea, P.A.
Have a Todd adjustable heigth leaning post on my 170 CC. New 2002. Take the cooler/seat out of your boat to give you a clean deck to work. Set the new unit in place where you think it should go Then walk around it for a couple of days to see how everything fits. A skinny guy may want to be closer to the wheel. Me, I needed more room plus room behind the leaning post to attend to mooring lines, fish, etc. Put your leaning post where you want it. Good luck with your project. My Todd gave me more storage and rod holders on a small boat. Most of my operating experience is standing/ leaning with the shock of waves and wakes going to my legs. |
