Bow fish box hinges, will they break?
I just purchased a 190 bay. I am a little concerned that the front fish box hinges are going to break off after repeated use of opening the doors and letting the doors rest on the hinges. After getting back from my first trip I noticed that on one of the hinges there is already a slight dent in it from opening the door. This seems like a poor design, seems like there should be some type of door restraint. If the door is left open while getting the anchor and a wave hits and rocks the door back and forth it seems like the hinge will bend back or break. I am considering making some door restraints but am very uncomfortable drilling into my new boat. Is this something that should be covered under the warranty? I attached two pics, one of the door and one of the hinge.
Thanks |

MSSRUSSO,
I've been around boats forever and have owned 10-15. I found out a long time ago from an old "SALT" when it comes to boats "IF it ain't broke don't fix it" !!!! Just enjoy your new ride. When it breaks buy a new one and keep on going. Just my 2 cents. John D. |
