I went to the COOP and bought a large plastic syringe that the farmers use to give shots to horses. A short piece of vacuum hose slipped over the end of the syringe sucks out all the water. This device is small, cheap and it works well.

Rod holder drains
I have a fix for the drains and it is not real hard to do.
I pulled my rod holder out of my 210 i drilled the bottom and tapped it with a 1/8 pipe tap and installed a 3/8 dia barbed fitting. I attached a piece of tygon tubing about 10 inches long to the barbed fitting. Then i drilled a hole on the inside of the boat to meet with the rod holder hole. Remember to hollow out the insulation on the bottom of rod holder hole a couple inches lower so the side hole will meet. I drilled the side hole slightly smaller in diameter then the tubing. Then i installed the rod holder with tubing coming out drilled hole. Trim and seal tubing. |

I had the same issue with what appeared to be wet newspaper in the rod holders. Apparently the factory leaves some sort of instruction paperwork rolled up in rod holders. It doesn't hold up well when submerged in water for days.

rod holder drainage
An easy way to drain the rod holders is to get an 18 to 24" piece of hose. When you are washing down the boat insert the hose to the bottom of the rod holder and run your wash down water in the top. A siphon will start quickly, remove the wash down hose and drain the rod holder with the siphon hose. Cap the rod holder and move on to the next. Remember for the siphon to work the end of the siphon hose must be lower than the bottom of the rod holder.
