Question Props and downriggers

Good Morning from Wisconsin.
I run a 150 E Tec on my 190 Bay and want to pick up a stainless prop and keep the existing aluminum one for back up. The existing prop is a 14.5 X 19. and I get a little over 40 MPH at ~5200 rpm (WOT). If you punch it, it takes less than 3 seconds to get out of the hole. Any experience or suggestions on prop type, pitch, etc. Is the performance I experience typical?

I also occasionally fish Salmon and want to use the 190Bay with full size Cannon downriggers. Any experience or suggestions for mounting the 5"x5" swivel mounts from Cannon?

Thanks!

Welcome to the board! In regard to your downrigger question, I run a Scotty electric, and it is through bolted. An inspection plate was cut and then foam removed the through bolts. Once everything went in correctly, it was re-foamed and closed up just leaving the basic mounting plate their. From that I attach my swivel plate & downrigger. It is rock solid! It works for thresher sharks out here on the west coast, and the electric models are nice. Good luck! I hope this helps

We also run a Scotty electric downrigger and just have it mounted on a gimble mount. It just slides right into the rod holders and is pretty secure.

I use two Cannon EZ Troll downriggers on my 215. I use the rod holder gimbles with swivel base mounts on them. They work fine and if you don't have to drill or cut into the boat. When im not using the downriggers I just remove the riggers and gimbles and the boat is back the way it was. This system works fine for me and they seem to be very strong. Good Luck, Bob

A belated thanks for your reply I will probably go for a fixed mount in that unfortunately
my first mate hangs the cannonball on rocks from time to time.

Sorry it took so long getting back to you, I just got back from vacation. I believe I used 1/4 20,but I know I used a back up plate. The mount is rock solid.
