Very nice. What kind of fishing will you be doing with the four downriggers?

downriggers

trolling for trout year round from 800 feet above sea to 10,000 feet in the summer. I take them off for the salt trips in the summer. Downrigger plates mounted and worked great on the stern rails. I am finding many hull problems relating to any screws/mounts. plastic maybe?

I have my downriggers mounted with Tite-lok tracks using toggle bolts and no problems at all holding.

35 Mph ?

Thats a good looking outfit ya got there popeyoung-Good Luck with it My 190 also has a Yamaha 115 four stroke and a factory "T" top but hits 39.5-40 MPH @ 6000 RPM-GPS speed. Without the weight of the T top and the add'l wind resistance it causes i would expect you to be hitting 40+ MPH. Is your boat proped right? Is 35 MPH a gauge or GPS reading? Might be worth looking into.

Triumph makes a fine boat and not having to worry about nicking or scratching gel coat is great-And the best part-NO WAXING! ENJOY IT!

35 mph

35 was a gps reading. the speedo said 39. I think the prop is wrong from the previous owner but i can not find the pitch stamped anywhere. I bought a 17 pitch as a back up. the prop on it does troll down to 1.4 which is nice for the downriggers.

Yup, maybe the previous owner had it propped for a specific application. Thing of it is, with the correct prop you could save fuel, unnecessary wear on the engine, and go faster. With my factory equipped prop I can troll at low speeds too. Personally even when I want to get somewhere fast I generally keep my RPMs at 5,000 or under to avoid running the engine at red line speed. Like I said, it will hit 6,000 at WOT but continued operation at those RPM's is bound to cause premature engine wear

boat spped

Had the boat out Sunday. Flat water. Fully loaded with my Son and I (320 lbs. of Huminoids) 25 mph @ 4200 rpm and 35 mph @5200 rpm. 5600 rpm made know difference on speed.. GPS verifired. Is my prop "pitched out at 5200 rpm? Would a 17 pitch give it more top end speed?

Which prop ?

Jeez, that's a real brain teaser popeyoung. My 190 came new from the dealer with a 13 1/4 x 17-K aluminum prop and it seems the correct size/pitch since the engine goes to 6000 RPM and no higher. I don't know why your boat reaches top speed at less than the maximum RPM's. Maybe others will chime in with suggestions

popeyoung2,
Play with your trim when you're trying to max out the rpm's. If you've got it tucked in to the stern it will not reach it's max rpms. Try tilting the engine up a little at a time as you reach the highest rpms that you normally get to. See if it will rev a little higher. Less boat in the water = less drag. RPMS may climb a little. Try it on flat water only. Good luck.
