Need Help --- Fuel Odor 2005 Bay 190

please Help. I'm Considering Buying A 2005 Bay 190 Which Has A Strong Odor Of Fuel. The Boat Has Only 60 Hours. What Kind Of A Problem Would It Be To Trace The Fill And Vent Lines Back To The Fuel Tank And To Check The Fuel Tank? Could This Be A Leak From The Fuel Tank To The Yama? Thank You.

jcadobe, welcome to the site.

Please try doing a "Search" on "Fuel Smell". Eight different items came up for me, of which a few could be the answer you are looking for. The "Search" feature really does work on this site.

In my case, we found the odor was the smell given off by the curing Ropolene. We have a 2005 210CC, and we still have the smell. Some owners have even had their lock fire departments use equipment that detects gasoline fumes, and they came up with nothing.

I am not saying it could not be gas. The boat could have a leak that needs fixing.

Good luck on your purchase. We love our Triumph.
