Livewell Pump Leak

Has anyone had a problem with the livewell pump leaking. I replaced the power head several weeks ago, and since have notice water in the hull. Yesterday I checked the pump, and it seems water is pouring in between the pwoer head and the base, all seem to be seated. Also, my bilge pump seems to never pump all of the water out?? Any help would be appreciated. :? :?

Livewell pump crack

Hello mwhitaker,

I had to replace my livewell pump due to a crack in the pump casing. This was not easy to see. Noticed water collecting in the bilge during use. Checked that my drain plugs were tight, the problem was not there. The trick to me finding was I filled the bilge with a garden hose till the thru-hulls were covered and let it sit. After about 15 min., I had water dripping out of the livewell intake thru-hull. Disassembled the pump and thru-hull. I found the pump casing had a crack about 3/4 of the way around. This could not be seen since it was on the bottom side of the pump. You might want to look there, hope this helps.
