IS YOUR BOAT AN 07 MODEL?? THERE WERE SOME EARLIER MODEL 190S THAT TRAPPED WATER FORWARD OF THE LIVE WELL AND HAD TO HAVE HOLES DRILLED FROM THE BOTTOM IN ORDER TO GET THE TRAPPED WATER OUT AND THEN WELDED SHUT AFTER THE WATER DRAINED OUT. I WOULD THINK THE PLANT HAS FIGURED A WAY TO CHANNEL THE WATER OUT OF THIS AREA WITH THE NEWER MODELS HOPEFULLY A COUPLE OF THOSE OWNERS WILL CONTRIBUTE THEIR EXPERIENCE ON THIS WITH YOU

Thats interesting Illogical,
Its an 06 but I bought it after the 07s came out. Saved a few bucks on a fully equipped leftover. There are 6 or 8 places under and towards the front of the hull where 1/2" holes were drilled and welded up. I assumed it had something to do with the manufacturing and never gave it much thought but now I wonder? I had a problem with floorboards cracking (8 of them) and one time the Tech at the dealership said the compartments had a lot of water in them and thats when I added the 3rd drain. I don't know what things look like under those floorboards but I hope there are channels that allow water to flow to the rear and out the 3rd drain. I'm in SW Florida and freezing isn't an issue but If i still lived up north I would be very concerned. I don't care how you look at it, using floorpanels is a poor design. Triumph must have spent $1500. + replacing mine and I'm seeing early signs of another crack. Its expensive for them to add those 2 add'l parts but obviously necessary but someday they'll come up with a new design-They have too! I'm going to try Putersharks suggestion and jack up the front of the trailer as high as possible and see what happens. Even if 25 gallons flows out that still won't solve my inability to stay on plane at high speed but at least I'll know too much water is getting into the inner hull. Another possibility might be not enough weight in the rear of the boat. The capacity plate says a maximum of 6 adults so maybe the boat is designed for a regular load of 2 or 3. My fishing buddy has a real bad back and the water here is too rough to go very fast and when I go out with the Wife and dog I have to take it easy or the dog gets scared. I'll have find 2 fat volunteers to sit in the aft seats and see what happens ![]() |

Hi Putershark
Thanks for the offer! Extra ballast-Thats a good one. HA HA HA! I wish you were a little closer because I'd love to take you up on the offer. Tomorrow I'm headed N up pine island sound to Charlotte Harbor to do some sharking. I just made up a 1/2 dozen of my secret shark rigs and I'll be heading out at 0600 hundred. Its a 7 mile drive and I do a lot of zigging and zagging to avoid the sand and oyster bars but if the tide is up It's a nice ride at about 25 MPH. Last week I caught some nice 3 and 4 footers. I didn't get a chance to raise the trailer tongue real high yet but probably Sunday. I'm anxious to see what happens. |
