Mounting fuel/water seperator

I want to mount a fuel water separator on my 190 bay any suggestion on what type of screws I should use. I intend to mount it in the rear starboard side seat compartment. Mounting hole is 5/16 in diam.

Davey, I would think long and hard prior to mounting inside the seat compartments/transome storage. You will occasionally be leaking gas when you change out filters and draining water out of the clear bowl, etc and you may not want that going down inside the hull to the bilge.

I know, others have done it that way, and I am probably being extra cautious but I would consider mounting in the splashwell on the starboard side as to keep this "outside" in the boat with emergency drainage overboard vs down where electical things will be working.

I have a couple pics in my Members Gallery......just thru bolt with stainless.

One caviat, there is a hose repair tape that stretches and you wrap it around like using electrical tape. It works really good on the hoses entering and exiting the filter housing as there can be some sharp bends in the hoses so it gives them some support and reduces cracking/oxidation. I either found it at Academy or WalMart.

Good luck
Molar

Fuel filter

Mine was mounted under the rear port jump seat. However, my boat is a 170CC. You may have to adjust for the model boat you have.

Attached are two photos for reference.
