?? Where does the BILGE pump out at?

I cannot see where the bilge is pumping out water on my 190. When I look inside the transom while in the water there is water in where the pump is at that I feel should not be there unless I'm taking on water from somewhere else. It looks like there is a hole on both sides that may drain with the scuppers but I'm not sure..... I had her out on High Rock this morning slaying the Crappie and everytime I would step down to get another minnow I would be stepping into a small amount of water that was running up from the back of the boat at the Deck Drains! I need to plug these holes and keep the water in the lake. I will use these when I get out on the Ocean and really need them. Has anyone else used a plug to cap off these Scupper Holes? If so what did you use and where did you get them???? Thanks, JB

I have found the posts that have all the information that I need on what to plug the holes with for the scupper drains...... I still need to know what the holes are to the left and right under the back storage areas are for. They look like they are plummed into the scupper drains as far as the height and angle but I'm not sure. JB

Hi boost. The scupper drains only the inboard floor deck drains. I talked to a Triumph tech today, trying to determine the source of a water leak on my 2002 190Bay. Some of the questions I asked him concerned those holes in the transom that you are asking about. To repeat, the scuppers you see on the outside of your transom drain only the interior floor deck. There will be another 2 drains in the transom that you can clearly see drain only the "wash back" area where the motor is mounted. They are the two highest holes on your transom. The Triumph tech told me that the 2 holes that you are asking about, the one on the port was the for the bilge, and the other was for a fuel overflow. I cannot verify this, but this is what I was told. In addition, you might not be aware of a couple of other openings in your hull. On the transom, down almost to the bottom, is a "ledge", where the hull protudes out and then towards the very bottom the hull goes in a few inches. Underneath this "ledge" is a very large approx. 1 1/2 inch hole that apparently drains the livewell. At least it does on my '02. In addition to the holes in the hull that I've spoken about, there are two more small ones, one on each side of the forward hull underneath the fish boxes. Lastly, (again, on my 2002) there is yet one more hole in the hull, on the very bottom, slightly on the port side, and forward of the transom a couple of feet. I was told this is the raw water intake for the livewell and the raw water washdown pump. Having said all that, I have a question for you. Do you have the same holes that I described, OR is there an additional 2 holes on the very bottom of the transom, about 5 or 6 inches to either side of the centerline? I'm still trying to figure out where my water intrusion is coming from. I'm getting there, but haven't got it solved it yet. I highly suspect the raw water intake port on the very bottom. Hope this helps, wish the crappie were biting here!

Common water intrusion.
1. Back siphoning of bilge pump thru hull, you must put a flapper scupper over the bilge thru hull.
2. Suppers leak some water onto deck and water drains thru running floor boards into bilge.
You need to seal all seams, cracks etc of the deck so all water comes and goes thru the scuppers only
(or just rely on a functional bilge pump)
3. Leaking transom plugs.....just put a little water in the bilge while on the trailer and see if the plugs leak
water out. If they do, add a garden hose gasket to the transom plugs or replace to ss type.
4. Damage/improperly sealed thru hulls or cracked thru hull hose barbs. Physical inspection required.

I have a dry 2002 bay 190 but have experienced #1-3 in the past.

Guys, I have been on vacation for the last week and half. I appreciate all of your answers. I have all of the same holes in my hull that have been described. I will look into putting a scupper on the bilge hole. I went over the boat during my time off and while on the water I have noticed that I was getting water in the bilge only when I put water in the livewell and reached the overfill drain. This water I guess goes into the hull because a couple of times I had allot of water in the hull after filling the livewell due to the massive amount of crappie and cats that were taking up space in there !!
