Bilge Pump Discharge
If there is a Loop of discharge hose that goes above the waterline, you could also install a siphon break (i.e. vented loop) at the top of it. This would not add any additional resistance to the discharge line but would prevent back-siphoning of water into the boat.

JB,
The livewell overflow drains out the back below the waterline. It should not be adding any water to your bilge unless the hose clamps are leaking or the baitwell itself is leaking. I will not be able to get out in the boat on Memorial Day weekend. I'm going to leave all of the fish for you that weekend and I hope you will leave some for me later. John D. |

Ok, so here are the results that I have found- - - - - There are no leaks in the boat at all that I can see. This was verified by filling the livewell up and making it overfill. I saw that the drain is T'd into the bottom drain in the well. All of the water went out the back drain hole for the livewell. I then filled the bilge with water and got under the boat to make sure that there was no water leaking out from any of the plugs and intake holes for livewell pump ect....NOTHING???? I called the Dealer and he stated that I need to place the boat in the water and turn on the livewell pump and make sure that it is not cracked anywhere. This would make sense since the first couple times that I had the boat out I did not see any water in the hull at all. I did not pump any water in with the livewell pump on these occasions. Thanks for all the help and advise that everyone gave. I have a plug that fits into the bilge pump out hole that I will also place in to make sure that there is no back flow from that while I test the Baitwell pump.....
JB

I recently purchased a used Triumph (2004 190 Bay) and have just discovered the value of reading the 190 threads. I was on one of my first fishing trips to the Biloxi Back Bay, anchored up and had four people fishing. I noticed from time to time there would be 1-2 gallons of water in the boat, then it would later drain out. From reading the threads, it most likely is coming in thru the bilge discharge, probably caused by folks congregating in the back of the boat. Boat has a 115 Johnson 4 stroke, runs great and is perfect for the type fishing/boating I do. I will try some of the remedies recommended and see how that works.

I will be on my way to the ATL, and will find out where the water is coming in at soon. I have a new plug that fits into the bilge discharge hole that will let me know if the water was coming in there. If I get no water even after running the livewell pump I will know that I have backflow through the Bilge Pump...... I hope that you enjoy your new purchase! JB

I have a 190 Bay, and had the same problem with water coming in the boat. If you're having the same problem I had, water was coming in through the scuppers at the rear of the boat, that are for the self bailing. This is caused by debris getting between the scupper ball and seal. I purchased some freeze plugs that were used for swimming pools, I believe 1 1/4" in diameter, and put them in the scupper drain holes inside the boat, which are at the rear of the boat and at floor level. I got the freeze plugs at a pool supply company.
