bimini problem fixed

When I bought my used 190 bay, I was not pleased with the bimini. This is the first boat I have owned with a bimini. The bimini is advantageous to me less than 25% of the time but when needed is invaluable (heat of the day and during rain)
The problem with mine was it was installed only for up location with no consideration for down position. When down it sat half way between console and deck and when back it hit on top of my motor. This was not good because it was in the way when trimming motor up for ride home.
I fixed this by moving my gunwale mounts up 18" forward so down position would hit edge of front deck and edge of back deck. It is no longer in the way in the down position. I have played with the up position and am ok with it now. Now I dont have to constantly step over the top and worry about it flying out the back on the way home like a sail up in the air!
I am attaching pictures-with the new position in first two and old positions in the last two. I apologize in advance for my pictures. Maybe I will get my son to retake so I can repost tomorrow!
