water in rod holder

Hi All,

I have noticed that water stays in my consol rod holder on my 190 bay. Is this normal or should there be a drain .

A customer of mine also had the same issue with his 190 Bay. He simply drilled small holes through the side of the console and into the bottom of each rod holder. He then inserted a small plastic tube in the holes (assuming to keep water from entering the console.) Any water collected in the rod holders now drains into the cockpit of the boat and out the self bailing drains in the back. I'll upload pictures soon.
