Starboard

The deck on my 170CC is Starboard. Never have had a problem cracking, however, after a rough ride in heavy seas, some deck screws will back out. I just snug them back down.

When I went to the Chandeleur Islands, we encountered 3 to 5 foot seas for three hours. I had a handful of screws that had come loose. I put Rule Elastomeric Sealant on all the screws that had come loose, as well as any screw that would start to unscrew with the slightest pressure to unsrew it. Haven't had a screw back out since. Once a screw has back out, it's just a matter of time before it backs out again if you don't use the Rule.

no sweatt fishing, you should contact your Triumph Dealer about the floorboards. They should be able to take care of that for you.

floorboards????

Dont mean to be ignorant here but what are the grey floorboards on the port and starboard side for? Yea I know they cover the holes in the floor-but better question is what are the holes in the floor for?
I could see it if they had hatches and could be used for rods or skis.
Thanks,
Lindsay

I've owned my 190 for 16 months and so far I've had 9 floorpanels crack. Currently both are cracked and I'll be bringing it back to the dealer next week to get them replaced. The head of customer service at Triumph told me "floorpanels are not covered under Triumph's lifetime hull warranty but we have been replacing them as a courtesy". Several other 190 owners have had panels crack so there is obviously a flaw in the deck design.

I only wish the lemon law applied to boats. I've had a lot, a whole lot of problems with my 190 but fortunately I bought it from a first class dealership (Bulldog Boatwerks) and their service is exceptional. Needless to say I'm not happy about the deck problems and I'm considering legal action against triumph.

That is really strange Don and sorry that you are "still" having issues... How is the hull handling now though?

If you can score on a set of some of those old floor panels, I sure could use a set to fabricate some modifications for mine out of them drop me a line or call when you get a chance...

Tight Lines!

Hi Dave ! Now that they took the "hook" out of the hull its running great. Had it up to 39 MPH yesterday with 2 1/2 passengers (Me, Wife & Dog) so I'm real happy about that. The floorpanel issue is aggravating though. I guess Bulldog will replace them but unless Triumph is using a new composite its just a matter of time before they break again. Obviously something is wrong with the deck or the hull and Triumph doesn't seem to have a permanent fix. I intended to drop it off this AM but the whole issue is so frustrating I'm procrastinating until later in the week.

I'll post the fix when I get it back and I'll grab the old panels if i can

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news NSF. My dealer is only 6 or 7 miles away and they change out the panels in one day so I'm back on the water in no time. My 190 is an 06 "leftover" that I bought last year. Replacing the floorpanels has got to be expensive for Triumph-I would guess its at least a 4 or 5 hour job so between labor, the cost of new panels and several tubes of sealant is probably well over a $750.00 repair job.

Its a problem - I hope Triumph comes up with a solution
