Purchasing a 190 bay

I am about to purchase a 190 bay, it is advertised as a 2002. When I looked at it this weekend the console was marked 186, was there a model change?
Where on the hull can I check the date to be sure it is a 2002 as advertised?
I am going to sea trial it next Saturday, Is there anything in particular I should pay close attention to? any suggestions would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The hull number will end in '02' if it is a 2002.

- If you have the opportunity, look at the boat while it sits on the trailer. A few 2002 hulls have compressions just in front of where the front part of the bunks rest. These are called 'deflections' and I'm told go away when the boat is in the water.

- Make sure that the dealer transfers the warranty into your name. Put it in writing!!!

That's really the only significant thing I would note. I personally don't have the deflection issue on my boat. Other stuff about the boat is subjective. I love mine - it is a 2002 190 CC.

I got my 2001 186 about 2 weeks ago but it was updated with the new Triumph sitckers and a few other mods to the hull. Carl at Merritt hooked me up with a good rig. Still (very) new to boating, despite being on boats for a good part of my life.
