The inner hull is where the foam is, It's closed cell foam and is not supposed to absorb water, however, over time I would not trust it. The boat will also get heavy if water is present. I know another hole in the transom doesn't sound like a good idea, but it's good insurance to keep the boat from getting heavy. The transom plugs drain the bildge, but water can get between the inner and outer areas from leaky thru hull fittings, rod holders, areas not sealed with rule etc. Oh yeah a crack will do it also.

210 Inner Hull Drains

Hi Dick,

Happy new year and stuff!

I don't have any inner hull drains in my bilge.
As an alternative, where on the transom should inner hull drains be installed on 210's ?

Is it below the transom, 2 drains, one on each side of the centerline, about 2 inches apart and 1 inch from the bottom, or ??

I'd greatly appreciate the info.

Drilled an inner hull drain hole this weekend. Was expecting a cavity but drilled right to foam after breaching the hull. Have drained about 2 gallons of water in 36 hours....drip by drip. Will just leave it alone for a couple of weeks then mount the tires back on and tilt the bow up.

Picture?

I have a 191 Side Console (2004) and I'm thinking of installing the inner hull drain, but the description of where to put it isn't clicking.

Can someone post a pic of the locaton on the transom? Will it be the same location for my 191 Side Console?

Thanks in advance of the help.

Thanks MolarBoater!

As I suspected, my 191 transom does not look at all like the picture.

Anyone have any idea on where to put an inner drain for the 191SC? :?:

Molar

Is your picture the one where it appears the hole is drilled exactly between the oOEM drain holes? Also when you say you just hit foam, How far did you go? Was that your purpose? To just hit the between the hull to drain?

The hull design on the 190s and the 191s are different! The 190 inner hull can be drained by installing a drain between the two bildge drains on the lower transom. The 191 has two inner hull drains on the inside of the bildge, accessed thru the inspection plate on the splashwell.

Greenmiler, I just measured half way between the two bilge drain holes and used a one inch paddle bit and "drilled away" and into the foam @2 inches. Have gotten about 5 gallons of water out now, 2 weeks.
