2002 190 Bay Inner Hull

Is the inner hull of the 2002 190 Bay completely sealed? I've seen posts concerning inner hull drain plugs for both the 210 and 170. The only area I can see that may contribute to water intrusion into the inner haul is through the rod holders on either side of the stern. But now that I've winterized the boat/motor, I want to be sure that there isn't another plug that I should be draining (in addition to the transom plugs).

Thanks!

We have installed a drain on the transom, between the bilge drain plugs. That area goes into the center stringer, water that gets to the inner hull will migrate to that area.

Dick,

Would this center drain be something that we (average owner) could install? How would we determine if this was needed?
I would have your shop do it if I wasn't 1000 or so miles away!

Thanks

A center drain is something like buying a generator, you hope it's never needed. It is easy to do. A paddle wood bit, the drain plug and rule. The drain plug with the base is $5. It's made by Sea-Dog. If you can't find them, we stock them and just about everything else for Triumph's

Thanks for the reply

Went out today to inspect where I could install the plug and noticed that my big fat Honda 130 transom bracket extends almost all the way between the two bilge drains.

Oh well, I really have no reason to believe that there is water in there anyway.

Thanks again.

I hope were talking about the same area, The 190 Bay has drain plugs under the step on the transom. The motor is not in the way. Trim the motor up and drill away.

190 Inner hull drains

I see the need for an inner hull drain, but I also know that if I installed one I would be wondering if the drain was allowing water into the inner hull foam areas. ( AKA- leaky drains we already have on the transom). I would like to know if there is a good way to check for the presence of inner hull water before actually drilling a hole in the transom. I surely don't want to drill a below water line hole if the need is not present.

i installed o-rings on all my plastic plugs on my prev. logic 186 due to the fact that the red washers have failed in the past and i got alot of water entering the bilge from the 2 plugs on the set back. Even with the o-rings i get water into the floor boxes on my current 210cc but not as bad as w/o them. they are 3/4x1x1/8 and the dash #is 210

Dick, would a crack in the hull allow water to enter the inner hull or does it get into the "foam" of the outer hull only?[/img]
