Question Second battery quiz

My 190Bay is already rigged for a trolling battery. I have no need for a trolling motor but would like to add a back up battery. Would hooking a cranking battery where the trolling battery is supposed to go:

a. Work as a backup for starting with out any modifications
b. Work as a backup if i add a battery switch
c. Work as a backup only if I disconnect it and move it to the rear when primary battery dies.
d. Be a waste of time
e. Make my boat go BOOM

Thanks for the help,
Paul
