July 3rd, we were off Destin Fla in 4-6' swells with 4 sec intervals in my 2002 Bay 190 and took plenty of water over the bow. The upside of the scuppers that let water in the back of the boat is that they also let water out of the boat pretty fast. There still is no documented case of a sunken Triumph no matter the scupper situation or even a functional bilge. I have heard of a few brand new "expensive" boats sinking on their first couple of trips out to deep water from undiagnosed leaks, shorting the wiring from the batteries hence no bilge action, good-bye boat. Triumphs are safe, inexpensive, easy to work on and consistantly float. Not much wrong with that. Have tried all scupper improvements mentioned to date except the cage ball. That's next. Keep the ideas coming, that's what's great about Triumphowners.net.
