Looking at used 190 Bay

Hello. I am looking at a 2003 190 bay with a 115 4 stroke yami. One owner, Bimini top, basic electronics, trailer. Excellent condition. Very low hours.

I'm having some considerable difficulty getting a grasp on the used Triumph market. I think there's only been one used Triumph in the Raleigh N & O in the past 6 months. I guess that means everyone is happy with their boats!!

Can anyone offer any basic guidance on the value of the boat?

Thanks.

Make sure it is registared at Triumph headquarters so you can transfer the lifetime warranty. There is a transfer fee and must be done quickly after purchase. Give more specs like galvanized vs aluminum trailer, exact electronics, cushions, swim ladder etc for some thoughts on estimates. Also, is the motor under Yamaha warranty? Ask to see the service records, how many hours ran, etc. What are they asking?
Here's a quick estimation, total brand new 2003 purchase price minus 20% out the door then minus 5% per year.

Check out a dealer in Winston Salem

Suggest you call or visit the Triumph dealer in Winston Salem for details on the boat you are looking at.

thanks for your input!

I have a few more specs:

galvanized trailer. all cushions. flip seat/cooler. swim ladder. he didn't remember the brand/model number of the fish finder but I gather it is a basic model (no gps). basic vhf radio. no trolling motor. baitwell never been used. 15 hours. all service performed at local Triumph dealer and records available. from what I understand it is basically in brand new condition.

Will he show you his purchase invoice? Sounds like the boat has barely been used, how bad does he want to sell?

I haven't asked to see the invoice but as I understand it he paid $22k and some change for it.

I think he wants to sell it but isn't absolutely dying to sell it.

NADA est for 2003 Bay 190 115 4 stroke average condition is $13,900 without trailer and electronics. If his only has 15 hours, might be worth more. Think trailer couldn't be more than $1,000 new, fishfinders vary greatly from $100 to $1,200 pending what you want.

Trailers can go for $2,500 new. But the bill of sale on a package deal may only allocate $1K to the trailer.
