190 Bay fuel issues

I have a 02 Bay 190 with a Suzuki DF140. The motor starts great, however when cold and under power it seems to starve for fuel and miss out and come back to idle . The squeeze bulb has to be pumped to keep the motor speed up until the prime can be maintained. Once warm it runs fine. The happend when the boat was new. Took it in for warranty work and they said the fuel line from the tank to the motor has a anti siphon valve in it and it was allowing fuel to run back to the the tank and not to the motor. The problem just recently came back. Checking to see if anyone else has had this problem and what is the fix. No warranty now and trying to do it myself.
Thanks,

Bulb prime

We had the anti siphon valve problem in our 2001, ever since it has worked fine. Maybe some possible debris in the fuel tank, if you have a fuel water seperator I would replace the cartridge.

Thanks for the replys. Triumph manf. just responded to an email and provided directions to the antisiphon valve.
Did you do the work and if so was it a hard to replace the valve.
The directions provided said to open the hatch to the console from the bow side and the valve is under the gray flooring panel.
Thanks,
Smokey

I had the dealer do it the both times - only had the boat a short time. They got it correct the second time.

Great post. I have the Bay 2002 with Suzuki DF 140 too and have had no problems motor wise. Post some pics if you can on what you did for future reference.

Found the antisiphon valve where Triumph said it would be. However when I pulled it out, found it was just a fitting. The one I bought to replace it (11.99) had a ball bearing looking thing in the bottom of it. The old one was just a connection for the hose and to the tank fitting.
Might explain somethings. Now to put it back together and see if it solves the problem.
New to this site but have enjoyed reading about this plastic boat.
Thanks for the replys,
Smokey

Unhappy Me Too

I had the same problem with my 2002 190 Bay with a Suzuki 140, but not only when it was cold. Zipping along and then the motor just seems to die. Re-start and it runs fine. I was wondering what it was.
