Kicker motor on 190 Bay
Dick,
I posted this on another thread here, but had no response. Figured I'd give it a try here and see what you have to say... Posted: Thu Nov 25, 2004 8:42 am Post subject: Kicker motor installed on 210 or 190 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Has anyone installed a kicker on the back of their 210 or 190 yet? If so, did you use a standard kicker motor bracket? Also, does anyone know by installing a kicker/bracket, does this void your lifetime guaranty? L8r Paul |

Kicker on 190
Dick,
Thanks for the quick reply. A couple more questions regarding the 190 and a kicker. Could a kicker bracket be mounted in the same way as the swim platform? That is with togglers? Or is the swim platform also through bolted? Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing any through bolts for the swim platform and it seems to fair pretty well by pulling my 240 lbs rump out of the water... I'm at the early stages of thinking about mounting the kicker on the starboard side just behind the rear seat. Somewhat the same position as the swim platform but on the opposite side. Is the transom hollow foam filled? How about the location I'm thinking of, is it also hollow foam filled? Thanks again Paul |

Paul, I'm sure a custom mount could be made to conforn to the transom, but it's not going to be cheap. the swim platform is mounted with togglers and we have not had one pull off. It's my opinion that any motor mount should be thru bolted. since a motor will have a constant pull on the top area. also, that part of the transom has structural foam in it and I dont think it's a good idea to hog any of that out. If you go for it , keep us posted. I'll check if there are any warranty issues.

210 Kicker Bracket
Paul, I have had a kicker motor bracket made for my 210. It is very close to the factory approved bracket made by a dealer in Vancouver, WA named Boater's World. I am just about ready to start installation. I will be using spacers for the upper through bolts and togglers for the middle and bottom bolts.
I will be taking pics of the process as I go along and will post them for all to see. Just being held up right now due to inability to find 3/8" togglers. codfish |
