More Power for a 191 W/T

I purchased a used 2004 191 W/T with a 2005 115 Yamaha 2S and a Yamaha 8hp 4S kicker. I use this boat for walleye tournaments and would like a little more speed and fuel economy. I am considering a 150 Yamaha or Suzuki 4S or the new 175 Suzuki 4S. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I have a 191 W/T with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke. What you can expect with this engine is a top speed of 46 (according to my digital speedo). I have a friend with the same set up but a 150 Yamana 2 stroke, he gets about the same speed however his analog speedo reads 52. Running them side by side full throttle he barley moves ahead of me but no where near the 6 MPH discrepancy according to our speedos.
I love the 4 stroke which appears to get around 4-5 MPG. Hole shot is excellent, and it starts instantaly every time even when the boat has been sitting for weeks (without even pumping the bulb).

191 FS Power

Let me say that I love my boat. I use my boat for trout and salmon on the west cost. I have the 140 Suzuki with a 9.9 Suzuki kicker both 4 stroke. I bought my boat in March before the 175 Suzuki came out. The 140 has been great but every man wants more. I have plenty of power for fishing and skiing. I love the fuel economy and the great feeling that my Suzuki will strat every time. I am sold on the Suzuki and the 191, it can handle the wrost conditions. This is my first boat that my wife and I bought new besides all the boats we had as kids growing up and I feel that I made a great purchase. The 191 will not win any races but it will allow you to stay in rough water and catch fish. I have had mine in the Pacific North West Ocean several miles out and in the San Luis Res in the roughest conditions. It is up to you. Buy what you want but the Suzuki is great. Best of Fishing. I would really like to do some walleye fishing one day. Good luck and Fish On.

I have the 191WT with 140 Johnson 4-stroke and 9.9 Johnson 4-stroke kicker (both motors made by Suzuki, like Big Rich above). I bass fish, ski and take to Canada walleye fishing each year. I recently switched from a 21" 3-blade prop to a 19" 4-blade prop and gain 4mph plus a better hole shot. I'm loving it.

Could you tell me what your top speed is with the new prop. Thanks

4-blade prop improves performance on 191 WT

Georgia, with the 4-blade 19" prop my top speed is about 44 mph, compared with just about 40 mph with the 3-balde 21". I think that's running at about 5600 rpm with the Johnson 140 4-stroke. Jim
