Helm Switches
Hi All:
I realize that my quesiton that follows sounds pretty ridiculous. My only defense is that I tried to start my recently delivered Triumph 191 F&S this afternoon, but the battery (which I confirmed when I put my Batery Tender on it later) was apparently drained. I recall on light on one of the helm switches when it arrived two weeks ago, but in the rush of accepting delivery this observation got past me. Well, today there was nbo power in the battery to even use the power tilt let alone try to crank over the boat. I got out the Operator's Manual, but it does not indicate the OFF position for the helm switches. With a dead battery, I cannot figure this out. Help! Thanks. Ken |

Ken,
Try to slow charge the battery. If it's completely drained that's probably the only way to get a charge going. 2 amp setting on a charger. Then when you get a little juice to it you should be able to tell which switch is on. On my 170 the helm switches all have a small red light glowing when its in the on position. Good luck. John D. |

And not only a switch to kill the start battery / batteries... But also 3 way bilge pump switch with either a built in light for pump operation OR a LED light on the console that tells you anytime the pump is running comes in very handy
This way you do not have to kill your main battery (just the pump) if you want to keep others things running like a radio memory if you so choose. The pump though with all of its cycles will kill a start battery in a week or so of constant checking for water from what I remember.
