191 F/s Kicker Motor vs. Trim Tabs

I have a 2004 191 F/S. Due to my, well, errr., substantial girth, not to mention the three batteries the boats lists a little to the starboard. When I park my fat fishing buddy port side its no problem but alone its a slight nuisance. Meanwhile, I am considering a couple of options which give rise to the following questions:

The 191 has room on the transom for a kicker motor. However, it looks like over time the clamps on the motor will chew up the top of the transom. Does anyone know of a protector for the top of the transom?

Does anyone have experience with trim tabs on the 191 that they wish to share? Which brand etc.

Also, has anyone used a kicker motor with the trim tabs? I don't know if the tabs will allow the kicker motor to fit. If I go with the tabs I might have to forego a kicker motor. Not sure though.

Best regards, Kokefisher.
