New 195cc owners

On 5/20, my husband and I decided to head to Maryland to the triumph dealer to see these boats. We purchased a 2006 195 cc with a 135 honda today (5/26). We pick it up next Friday (6/2) and are really excite to get back to boating/fishing! We do have a question tho... this has a t-top on and we were wondering if we could take it off over the winter to store in in our garage and then put it back on in the spring. If so, would the fasteners get loose over time? Thanks to this site for helping us in our decision!!

BusterBear5, I was considering doing the same thing when I bought my 190 Bay equipped with a factory T-top. My dealer told me that it would not be a good idea, in fact, not to try to do it. My understanding is that there are plates in or under the floor which the T-top base mounts to and reattaching the top correctly would be difficult. Also, you will see that wiring to the navigation lights atop the T-topare threaded through the tubing and those wires would have to be cut in order to remove it. You will likely also find yourself attaching all sorts of things to the top-gps and vhf antennas and so forth. I wasn't looking to buy a boat with a T-top because I knew one would not fit in my garage, but the right deal on a leftover came along and now I'm glad I have it even if I can't garage it for the winter. I wrap it up well with a tarp and am happy.
