Northeast Fishing - Maine

I am curious to know how many people in the New England region that own a 195cc have gone offshore and how far offshore? I would like to do some ground fishing and shark fishing but I am just not completely comfortable yet with taking my boat out 15-25miles.

I have a 2006 195 and upgraded from a 17 cc for two reasons for ease of trailering and to continue to slay sharks at tantes ledge. Ive had my 195 10 -20 miles off shore several times since March for groundfishing and will be heading off shore in mid July for shark. I have had my boat in 4 to 5 ft swells and have stayed dry. This boat is really no different then the almighty offshore machine in the 21 ft cc. Its a mere 2 inches shorter and two inches shallower. Dont get me wrong im not heading out in a windblown tropical storm to catch sharks not because I dont think boat is solid but when I go sharking im leaving at 4am and want to be chumming by 5 am. I spent all last summer sharking aboard a modifyed v hull 1980 cc Mako in some serious make you vomitt conditions so having the deeper hull and more boyant and softer ride of the triumph makes a big differnce. The moral of all this is that common sense should always override ego and invincibility. The boat will be fine off shore and in my opinion thats essentially what is designed for but like anything else know your limits. I love this boat and has caught an arsenal of fish the season and has been perfect for skinny water as shallow as two feet for busting stripers on flats and equally steller off shore.
