t-top problems and fuel tank...

i purchased a 195cc with a 150 yamaha 4 stroke in feb. '06....satisfied with the vessel but have a couple of issues.....my boat came equipped with a 45 gal. tank as opposed to a 60 gal. as advertised....did not realize this until an offshore trip...has anyone dealt with this as well and if so,to what conclusion was did it end...?.....and the t-top actually broke in half on one vertical support(not on a weld) and had stress cracks on several other welds.....again,anyone else encounter this?....i use my boat as any other fisherman would, and am reasonably conservative on my offshore trips...would appreciate any input....mr. miller......wilmington,nc

Wow those are two important issues. Have you worked with a Triumph dealer on resolving them?

was told it would not be possible to change out tanks in the boat, but bartered for the entire cushion package and center deck piece at no cost($750.00)....but 15 gal. is a big difference......as far as the t-top...after getting some advice from t-top manufacturers,i was told that they would not attempt a repair....triumph agreed to replace the t-top under warranty....my issue is,i had to fight to not have to ship it to Durham(during fishing season) for the change out, andhaving waited for a month now,not knowing when it will get to my dealer....e-mails to the website have yielded no response from Triumph

Appreciate this discussion on the 195 CC. Considering purchase of same. Always looking for potential issues before such a move. Fuel tank issues should be resolved by the 2007 models. Now, do I go with the factory Tee-top or a custom unit from a Beaufort area welding shop? Cost near equal. Quality?

Thanks for the open and frank comments. Obviously the major merits of this Network.

Good information

I was planning to add a t-top to my 190 Bay and have a quote from Triumph Dealer. I think I will check out a custom shop. Sorry for your trouble. I have had my 190 Bay since 2003 and boat has been great. Small items such as stuck gauges, but boat is very durable.

i have and recommend modlin's as a source for t-tops in n.c. keith has installed tops on all major brands of boats and his design is a proven winner. pics on my photo gallery. and i think there is a link to his site on here somewhere

Well I am glad you were at least able to get all worked out. As for the questtion for getting a factory or aftermarket T-TOP. I opt for the after market T-TOP . I had my custom built from Pacific yht towers. Did an awesome job. Infact the legs are bigger than factory, I have plates on top for eletronic equiptment. and custom wire loom passage ways. See in my photo's
