Height of a 2006 195CC
I will be building a new home in a few months. I am making one garage door 10' in height since Triumph's web site lists the height of the 195CC as 8'9" and I plan on purchasing a 195CC shortly after building my home. But, I am wondering if that includes the T-Top and I assume the rocket launchers would make it a little taller too. Can anyone tell me the height of a 195CC with a T-Top on the trailer, with or without the rocket launchers. Is it gonna fit in my 10' high garage door? Thanks.

195cc
Thanks Vic. I think you are right. If it did fit, looks like it would only be by an inch or two. May look at buying the 195CC without the t-top and maybe having a custom top made and maybe make it a few inches shorter. If that don't work, guess i will just have to foget about the t-top and just wear more sunscreen, lol. Thanks again.

Most Bimini Tops will give you more shade anyway. Now I would look how Vic's Radar Arch folds down which allows it to fit inside the car port OR how my bimini top was custom bent to stay inside the gunnels (out of the way) and is mounted on sliders. Pictures of both system can be found in the photo gallery

OffshoreDreamer, building a home, even with you doing a lot of the work, is never cheap. Fitting a boat inside a garage is not cheap either, because it is a matter of inches or fractions of inches.
My single garage door is 9 ft 11 inches wide and 7 ft 11 1/2 in high. That makes backing into it a real challenge, not impossible but very tight. If it was a drive thru garage it would be great, but for backing the boat in, it needs another foot in width. By reclining the center console back, and reclining the radar arch so the radar dome is resting on the motor, the height is not a problem. After adjusting our double garage door up to its highest position, we have at least ½ an inch to spare. Without our Rolls Axle trailer which is at least six inches lower than the standard trailer, we would never fit the boat inside. The trailer was not cheap, but it was cheaper than adding a foot to height of the garage door opening and the larger door itself. Look at Putershark's suggestions, and a t-top that folds down is another possibility. I guess what I am trying to say is that there are a lot of options out there. Do NOT give up on your dream, just work at solving the problem. It is the sum of the parts that make the total. For example, if our radar mount was rear leaning instead of forward leaning, we would have failed. Go for your dream, it will just take more work on your part. Having our boat clean and in the garage was worth the extra work and cost to us. The boat is protected, even from hurricanes, in its fortified home.

Thanks guys, ya'll are great, can't wait to become a real member of this family. Hey I do have another question, if someone has time to answer it for me. The Triumph web site shows 3 options on the 195CC that I am not sure what they are. They list a Bow Cushion, Bow Cushion filler and a Bow Filler Platform. They show a pic of the Bow Cusion but I cannot figure out if I need all three or if one of these incorporates the other two. I am sure my wife would enjoy laying out in the sun while I fish so I know I want some type of platform for her to do that. But, I would also like to be able to stand on the front for fishing at times. So can someone tell me what these 3 options are. Also is that a storage compartment in the floor of the bow under the platform? Thanks guys

Filler makes for perfect front casting deck
You definitely want the front filler piece. In place, it makes for a wonderful front casting deck. It's basically just a removable panel that fills in the center between the fish boxes on either side. It sits above the hatch to the storage compartment, which is in the hull itself. Stuff I need easy access to gets stored under the filler piece. I fly fish quite a bit, so the front casting deck was a big reason I chose a 195CC.
I posted pictures in the other thread you started. |

Offshore Dreamer,
I hope to join as a real member soon also. Here is my .02, I used to drive fire trucks for a living. More times than I can remember dept's would order a new truck based on the height of the opening and the overall height of the truck, the problem would come when the station was uphill or down hill from the street, as the truck approched on that angle it would hit. This would result in new lower profile wheels and tires etc. ie: more money. At least your thinking ahead. Good luck on your home and boat, we are so blessed to have a problem of fitting our boat into a garage when so many don't even have a boat. |
