191 DC inner hull drains necessity?

I've been reading in the general forum about inner hull drains. Being a new owner of a 191DC water in the hull has got me concerned. How necessary is it to install these inner hull drains? Is this a repair that has been found to be absolutely needed at some point. I had my 191 DC for one season and haven't seen any signs noticeable to me of water in the foam. Then again I'm a newbie. What's the tell tale sign of that?

ED. The 191 has 2 inner hull drains in the bilge, you get to them thru the rear access plate on the splashwell.

Question Does that mean this design flaw has been fixed in the 191 FS

I was thinking seriously about getting a 191 FS. Should I worry regards all of this talk of wet boats, undrained foam spaces between the hulls and backing up scuppers and think about a different boat?

Sorry for my display of ignorance, but I am a neophyte.

I spent a lot of time on the Nissan Titan and Ford F-150 sites prior to selecting my 2004 Ford last summer. After looking at hundreds of posts talking about vibrating beds, stuck parking brakes, broken control arms and motors stalling out - I decided that I was doing too much board reading and not enough test driving. A year later, I love that F-150.

I've only heard of one individual here with 'a lot' of water coming out of their inner hull drain mod. Otherwise, most have only seen trickles or even only drips or nothing at all. Some would say that they wished that they never did the mod.

Hopefully this provides some insight.

Question 190 Fs

Thanks. That does give it a bit of perspective. I have looked over the boat at a dealer. They seem tough enough - and the layout seems well thought out with good use of available space. There are lots of fishing features too. The kicker set up seems very nice. The fit and finish leave something to be desired and the controls and switches seem a bit "cheap". I contrasted it to a Yamaha SX230 sitting immediately beside it. Of course this is a totally different boat but fit and finish seemed a lot better to me (typical of a Japanese manufacturer I suppose).

The boat that the dealer had was equipped with a Yamaha 115 2 stroke. I didn't want to buy something underpowered. I had in mind to get a Yamaha 150 HP 4 stroke (I guess they don't make a 175 4 stroke), and a 15 HP Yamaha kicker (4 stroke naturally). The dealer thought that wouldn't be too heavy for the boat - but I wonder if anyone out there has a similarly configured 190 FS.

Another issue raised by the dealer was the fact that the 4 strokes have bigger powerheads - and that could be a concern regards elevating the engine without compressing fuel lines etc. Does anyone have any experience here?

Lastly I wondered what others thought about the suitability of this boat given what I have in mind (as follows) - or whether you would recommend something else or some otehr options.

I plan to use it about 60% for fishing and the rest for a bit of cruising trips to local islands and restaurants and maybe a bit of water skiing. It would need to hold as many as 6 adults at times - but not for fishing.

I would use it almost exclusively in salt water in the bays near Ocean City Maryland.

I could either dry rack or keep it in a slip. That isn't settled yet.

Would appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks much in advance!

I get a lot of water in my 19 bay and 17 Cool (Logic)

I get a lot of water intrusion into both my 19 and 17. Measured in gallons not drips! Can't figure out where its coming from. Seems when I use the bait wells I get more water than usual.
