Livewell controlls

I have a 191 and the livewell control knob is verry stiff and hard to turn. I replaced the valve on the pump and replaced the control knob and it is still hard to turn. The wire moves easy when it is not attached. Has anyone tried to move the contol wire to a new location? Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?
Thanks
Aron

My controls are also stiff. I almost think mine is wired backwards. When the knob is set to anything except "EMPTY," the drain allows more water to exit than the pump can pump in. If I set it to empty, the drain appears to close and the pump can fill it up. Whatever...at least I know there is a way to fill it.
