Cool 191FS vs 195DC

Hi all
I have been all through the web site & the factory brochure, & the boats seem like the same boats with the exception of the following:
1. 195 has a 1'6" anchor pulpit forward
2. seating in the back on 191dc is fixed & folding vs clamp on seats for the 195fl
3. The 191FS has seating for 8 the 195DC seating for 6
4. The 195dc weighs 150lbs more than the 191FS
What engine & horse power would you recommend to get a 200lb man up on a slalom ski?
I want to trailer with a Mazda MPV mini van with a 6 Cyl. engine, & the least amount of maintenance to the trailer. It looks like the 195DC may require trailer brakes, is this true?

Does anyone have real life experience between these two similar models?
I would like to water ski behind one of these models.
I would appreciate your feed back. Thanks to all.

Very interested in any responses you get Superman.

Both seat 8 according to the Triumph site and it's the DC that has the removable seats in the stern. The F&S has a roll down casting platform.

Both are rated to 150hp according to the website.

BUT, I have started a thread about the 195 taking a 175hp Etec or even a 175 Suzuki

This is an old post so you may already have gotten past this but I will kick in some thoughts for others with the same question.

I pull my 195DC with an F250 and it can be felt back there on take off but once moving it is effortless. The trailer brakes work really well and I have a good stopping ability. Now with that said, I am driving a Heavy Duty truck so i cannot compare that to your van but I dont see much difference weight wise between the 195DC and the 191FS. I think you would benifit from the trailer brakes with that lighter van. As far as pulling power, I could not tell you because i am not familiar with you vans power. I have a friend that pulls a Trophy Boat that is approx same weight as my 195DC and he drives a Ford Explorer and has no problem. I would worry about if your transmission could handle the pull over time. If you can work around that then you will probably be OK. The only other worry would be pulling your boat out of the water and up a steep baot ramp like some we have around here. I have seen small cars pull big boats out so you will most likely be OK.
