195cc and e-tec 115/150

Boat dealers in wilmington, n.c. are really bashing the e-tec but e-tec owners love em. Sounds like teh power stroke ford guys bashing the duramax chevy. I have both and prefer the chevybecause of quitness, power, and fuel mileage. This e-tec thing is sounding more and more like the ford chevy thing. They also are bashing the triumph boat saying things like if a screw comes out it never can be repaired and that the boat will warp over time and nothing can be done. It really turns me off for someone to put down another companies product. I'd much rather hear of the advantages they have to offer like the triumph dealer in Hillsboro did. He told me the other 2 boats were very good boats but gave me the advantages he thought the triumph had. Please respond as I'm ready to buy.I'm leaning triumph 195cc w/ 115 or 150 e-tec.

Just tell them their boats are made out of composite plaster and would fall apart if you hit one with a sledge hammer.

Any new motor is better than any motor made 10 years ago. They are all good.

Get what you want and enjoy.

jimmy garner, welcome to this web site.

All I can suggest is that you read and learn all you can. If you are like many others, the more you learn about these plastic boats, the more they appeal to you.

As I have said many times, there is no perfect boat that most of us can ever afford. I also tell others that my biggest mistake was not getting a Triumph sooner.

Wife and both grown kids are very happy with our plastic boat. Remember, when wood boats were the standard, they bashed glass boats. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Please keep reading and learning.

Jimmy,
Boat dealers in Wilm. NC are bashing Triumph boats because too many are showing up at the boat ramps. I live/boat in the Wilmington area and I see Triumphs every time I'm on the water.I'm like Osprey Vic. I wish I'd found Triumph boats sooner. It would equate to more hours fishing because of low/no maintenance. Good luck on your decision.

Triumph boats should be a wakeup call to Whaler and boats alike that cost an arm and a leg. I would run my 190 bay against a 19 whaler dauntless any day of the week. Triumph is half the price and in 06 it also had a better layout. Not to mention lifetime hull vs a 5 year and the options of power. Can't beat the Yamaha. Your stuck with a Merc after spending 43,000$.... is whaler kidding.
We are also seeing more plastic boats at the ramps in MD and DE.
Let the eary striper season begin!
