Took the boat out this weekend and once again the livewell won't do anything. Won't fill, empty, recirculate....NOTHING. Any suggestions? The reset button doesn't appear to be up so I don't think it's that, but something must be tripped or loose somewhere. Any advice would be helpful. Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer as it's 2 hours away....

Well there is one way to test it out of the water, for example you could un-screw the pump from the thru-hull and suck up som water from the bilge or a bucket. But I think taking it to a ramp and dunking it in deep enough to cover the thru-hull would be easier. You wouldn't even have to take it off of the trailer.

Still not working...I can hear the pump running, but I don't feel any suction on the intake when I put my hand over the mesh screen. Any suggestions?

I have a 195cc and the pump is mounted on top of a ball valve which is in between the pump and the through hull fitting, make sure that is open. It is not a high volume pump so it is unlikely that you would feel any kind of suction at the through hull fitting when its on the trailer.

Well this has happen too me before, the problem was that impeller for the pump rusted out. To check just remove the pump, usually this can be accomplish by squeezing two tabs on each side of the pump and lifting.
Also make sure there is no debris in tube connecting the pump to the live well. Test this by using a hose and squirting water into the livewell's inlet. |
