siphoning gas

Is there some kind of anti siphon mechanism in the 1995cc I cant seem to siphon the old gas out. The only thing that works is detatching the gas line to the motor and manually pumping it out, but there must be a simpler way. Any info would be great.
thanks, josh in humboldt

If you can get a hose down the fill next and into the tank, then you can siphon the gas out. Just make sure that the other end is below the bottom of your boat as the tank sits very low. The end of the hose has to be below the level of fuel in the boat. I hope this helps.
