New 195 DC in West Australia

Well I finally took the plunge and paid the deposit on a new 195 DC today . Delivery will be a few weeks . This is following a stack of research which included this website ( thanks fella's its excellent especially as these boats are very new in West Aussie , there have only been 5 Triumph boats sold within 2000 miles of me ! )
She's coming on a tandem trailer and getting fitted out with a 140 4 st Suzuki. I have requested to raise the height slightly on the Bimini and fit front and side zip away clears , fit more Gunwhale rod holders ( sealed stainless steel ), Lowrance LXC combo plotter & Sounder, Sarca Anchor, Ritchie compass, 2 sealed batteries with a Battery management system, 27 mz marine radio and all the standard safety gear including fire extinguisher and a digital epirb. Really looking forward to getting on the water. Thanks again for all this info, its been a great help to me.

Congrats Aussie,

You are going to be very happy with your boat. I absolutely love mine. The 140 Suzy will be a great match as well. Looks like you have used all the advice that you got on this sight to outfit that bad boy. I'm going to get the front side curtains next year, as I fish alot in early spring.

Now comes the hard part, waiting for the new boat. With all the calls I made waiting for mine, and me going over the boat with a fine tooth comb, I know they were extremely happy when they saw the boat trailer's taillights leaving their lot!!

Congratulations again, we anxiously await your maiden voyage report!!

Ron

Thanks Ron and NC, Yep I am still waiting., not much longer I hope...times going so slow !
I am also looking forward to your DVD NC, sounds like a great idea, hopefully the dealer here will be able to get his hands on them, I will be suggesting it and i am sure he will. Actually I reckon it will also be handy to borrow to friends and family , as they all seem to be asking me questions about this "new style" plastic boat.
thanks again and I Will post some pics soon.

Aussie,

Have you taken delivery yet? I can hardly contain myself, I take delivery tomorrow (Saturday 9/29/08). I won't get a lot of boating in by winter, but I will certainly get as much as I can. Planning a fishing trip at Lake Erie in a couple of weeks.

I am hoping to get out on erie in a couple weeks also. I normally go out on the west basin near west of put in bay. I havent had a chance to get out there at all yet this yr. I want to take my son when he gets home from training at fort leonard wood MO. It has been so long I probably forgot how to work my boat.

Hey Dick,

Pick up the latest Great Lakes Angler Magazine. There's a couple of good articles about where to go. One of the articles talks about the Lorain Bar it's about 5 miles north of Lorain - great for Walleye and Perch. They also talk about the "bowl" which is between Vermillion and Huron. I just got my boat on Saturday and looking forward to taking back out to Erie for fishing.

good to here Tfink and nice pics , so have you got her on the water yet ? If so how was it ?

Still waiting here, it looks like she will be ready this weekend hopefully.
I am really looking forward to getting it on the water, but its more important that she is fitted out just right.
Its at the trimmers shop right now for the Bimini adjustments and the bow cover instal.
Its pretty well start all over again on the Bimini to get the front and side clears and height I want .
The dealer is also having a few problems getting the engine interface system working ( Suzuki to Lowrance ) due to an adaptor change by Suzuki, but he will get there.
Many of the other options are complete or very close to done including the 140 4st Suzi , the launch and retrieve system , extra sealed gunwhale rod holders, battery managememt system ( and 2 fully sealed batteries ), compass, Lowrance GPS and Sounder 7 " combo ( fits very nicely ) , Sarca anchor , 27 Mhz radio fitted.
The trailer has been fitted with a spare wheel and the trailer itself has been modified ( to suit Aussie standards ).
Thats about all to report , not to long now !!

I had it on the water both Saturday and Sunday. Lake Erie on Saturday and Grand Lake (Ohio) on Sunday. She rides like a dream!

Tip: as long as your dealer is outfitting the boat for you, you may as well ask them to put a cleat inside the anchor locker. That way when you drop anchor you don't have to worry about the whole thing, rope and all going in. I'm going to add one on mine. There is a cleat on top of the pulpit, it just looks a little goofy having the other end tied off there.
