I ordered my 195 CC without the bow rail because I use a cast net most of the fishing season and it s easier for me to throw a large net without the bowrail being in the way. I may put a small grabrail on the bow after I use the boat a season. I've been storing my anchor in a fish box and just lowering it over the side and tying off to a cleet on the right or left side forward. I may continue doing it that way, but that pulpit sure looks sturdy and needs to be used. I've contemplated looking into a windlass to mount up there and solve all my anchoring worries.

I have about 5' of chain on my anchor on a 195CC. I use the bow bulpit and wrap the chain around the bow cleat a few times and put the end of the cleat pointing towards the console through a link to hold it firmly in place. The rest of the rope/chain goes in the anchor locker. It works great and has never come loose. Is this not a good idea? I guess I don't undestand the issue of using chain with a 195CC. My chain fits fine and I've never had a problem.

Here is a picture of the modification I made to my 195cc to hold the anchor solidly.

I bought an adjustable anchor chain tensioner from Boaters World, $35.00, removed the anchor cleat and moved it over, then mounted the chain tensioner where the cleat was for a nice straight pull. Works great!

hi everyone, I just purchased a 2007 195cc and still waiting on delivery (so I really haven't been able to take a good look at the pupit setup other than looking at pictures) but I did have the same bow "setup" on my wellcraft, for which my solution was a bunge cord. What I did was take about a 2ft cord with hooks on both ends, fold it in half, and then tie/wrap it around my front cleat. Then (based on how far the anchor was to the cleat) I took both hooks on the bunge and hooked them to the D-Ring that attached my anchor to the anchor chain. With the excess chain hanging there uselessly, I would take one of the eyes of the chain and just hook it around the back side of the cleat as a safety precaution just incase the bunge ever broke (which it never did in 6 years of owning the boat!). When I used the anchor, i would just unhook the bunge hooks and leave the bunge on the cleat and it never got in my way. I'll look for pictures in order better my explanation, but I hope this helps.

sorry i know this photo isn't the best, but as you can see, the bunge is wrapped around the cleat and both of the bunge hooks are attached to the d-ring on the anchor (bunge is white, not to be confused with the rope wrapped around the cleat also)

Thank you for the tips and pics. Especially rscott! I used the same tensioner but put it off to the corner.

I added 4 feet of polymer coated 1/4" chain. Now I just have to give it a test.
