New 191 FS

Hi,

On 12/1/07 I became a proud owner of a 191 FS after owning a 170 CC for 3 years. I have purchased both boats from Hooked on the Bay in North East, Md. They are excellent people to deal with, and have treated me great. I found this web site as I was doing research for the 191 FS. It seems to be very informative, and I already am reading about the bimini top problem not being able to lay flat.

I live in Pennsville, NJ and my wife and I enjoy going across the Delaware river to the C&D canal which takes us into Md. The ride across the Delaware could get rough when winds were 10-15. Looking forward to a much more pleasant ride with the heavier boat. Enjoy reading the many post about the Triumphs. I think they are great boats.

Thanks,
rdc

RDC, I think your going to like the way the 191 FS takes the waves as compared to the 170CC. I had a new 150CC for two years which I sold, and bought a used 2003 190 Bay about three months ago, which is similar in weight and length to the 191 FS. The 150CC is a couple hundred pounds lighter than the 170CC, and knowing the big difference in the way the 190 Bay takes the waves over the 150 CC, I can imagine you'll experience a similar difference. I, too, think the Triumph boats are great.

Hi everyone,

We finally got out for our madien voyage last Friday. It was sunny and 80 degrees. The sea trial was good. My wife and I had lunch and then went out for couple of hours to get some hours on the motor (115 Yamaha 4 stroke). My old boat, 170 CC, was quicker out of the hole to get up on plane (75 Yamaha 4 stroke). After crusing about 25 mph, I hit it a couple of times for a few seconds at WOT, and it jumped to 40 mph in seconds. This boat will defintly be faster after break in period.

Took a 1/2 day off of work yesterday, and we went to our favorite place for dinner the Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, Md. The ride down and back was great. On the way back we had some white caps crossing the Delaware River, and the boat was so good we were able to stay up on plane and did not get wet. So far it is everything we expected and more.

Looking forwad to getting out to do some clamming and crabbing this Summer. Also with the ski pole, we can tow the kids on their tubes. We vacation in Avalon, NJ for 2 weeks in September. The home we rent is on the bay and we have our own slip. Can't wait to use it. Just love this boat.

Thanks,
rdc

Hi RDC,
It sounds as though you and your wife are really enjoying the new boat (as I am enjoying your old one). You made a great choice on your upgrade. It was a pleasure meeting both of you before your sea trial last week. Thanks again for making the parts available to me. I don't blame you for taking off yesterday, it was beautiful here. I can't wait for the crabbing to begin.

Jim

Hi gentlebrian,

The number stamped on my prop is 13 1/2 x 17. It is the standard aluminum prop that came with the motor. Souds like you have a smaller one . Hope the information helps. Good luck.

Thanks,
rdc
